I “escaped from the law” on January 1, 1997, leaving behind a legal career to become a fulltime freelance journalist. Since then I’ve published more than 700 articles in 50+ national magazines including Family Circle, Health, Parents, Redbook, Self, Runner’s World, Continental, and Woman’s Day. I’ve authored, coauthored, and ghostwritten twelve books, and specialize in health, wellness, nutrition, and fitness subjects. I’m an ACE-certified personal trainer and motivational speaker, and balance a busy work schedule with my most rewarding job of being a mom to two--as well as a wife to one and a dog-walker and treat-provider to one more. My business name, BodyWise Consulting, reflects my goal to provide people with practical, inspiring information to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. I love helping people change their lives for the better. In addition to specializing in health, wellness, nutrition, and fitness subjects, I “walk the walk.” I’ve maintained a weight loss of 45 pounds for 25+ years, quit smoking (for good!), and am more productive in my 40s than I was in my 20s—which is essential both as a business owner and mom to two young (and very energetic!) children.
